myEventGenie.com was conceived more than 10 years ago and born out of a love of planning events. We realized anyone can organize and plan their own everyday special events with the right tools, and a bit of help and guidance too.
Events to us are all special occasions, from family celebrations to corporate and public events, including the Village fete. We wanted our site to be available to people who need to plan a funeral too and access genuine practical help after losing a loved one. We see myEventGenie.com as a site for everyone, including young people who, with parental permission, can even organize the School Prom.
Our top priority is safety. Inviting people you don’t know into your home or work place to interact with your children and young people we believe at best, is a risk. There are some businesses out there who don’t bother with Public Liability Insurance and what if something goes wrong? Anyone can talk up themselves or their business but what do their customers truly think…we ask the questions so you don’t have to.
Team MEG manually checks each and every supplier who wants to register. Current Public Liability Insurance certificate and three recent client references are a minimum requirement. Any supplier working with children and young persons will also have an enhanced DBS Check. No supplier profile can upload onto myEventGenie.com until all criteria has been checked and found to be satisfactory. Coupled with the fact myEventGenie.com is hosted on its own dedicated server based here in the UK, we give ultimate peace of mind for all our Event Hosts who can search for screened suppliers with confidence!
We have developed a site that is simple and easy to navigate, allowing easy access to suppliers. Our customers are busy people who don’t necessarily have time to shop around, so it was important to us that everything is available on one platform including planning and organizational tools.
myEventGenie.com will enable Event Hosts to set and manage their event budget, compare prices, choose suppliers and manage events from start to finish, culminating in the celebration of a successful occasion. Inspiration is available from expert suppliers and memories of the whole planning and organization process can be recorded in a secure on line Scrap Book.
We have provided a level playing field for every supplier, irrespective of business size, to appear in a Supplier Search. Every business that registers on myEventGenie.com has the same size profile with the option of adding photos and short video clips. Every business pays the same annual subscription.
Additional advertising opportunities are available within the site to enhance business exposure via the Supplier Showcase and Inspirations sections. The platform matches suppliers to the Event Host requirements or a supplier business can perform their own searches for work or be invited to quote by an Event Host direct. Whether an opportunity presents by invitation or work search, it’s up to each and every business to sell their product or service, and win a new client. A thank you for work well done is positive feedback from a grateful client. Apart from the initial 3 reviews from the original reference check, subsequent feedback can only be awarded by a myEventGenie.com Event Host.
Creating a community where Event Hosts and Suppliers are brought together and contribute in equal measure was also an important consideration for the myEventGenie.com platform.
